PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man accused of hurling Molotov cocktails at his neighbor's house in northeast Portland said he no longer has an issue with the man whose house he set on fire.

That's according to court document detailing the arrest of Thomas Junior James Jr, 56.

Police arrested him Sunday on charges including arson.

Court documents show his neighbor, on Northeast 14th Avenue, discovered his house was on fire at 9:30 p.m.

He went outside and found three Molotov cocktails had been used to set his home on fire. As he attempted to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, he said another one was thrown over the fence.

When the man yelled for it to stop, he said he heard a reply and he knew it was James' voice.

James was taken into custody and court documents show he admitted to officers that he made the four Molotov cocktails, lit them and threw them at his neighbor's house. James said he had an issue with his neighbor in the past, but he told officers he no longer does.

He was arraigned Monday on charges of arson and unlawful manufacturing of a destructive device.

James is due back in court April 9.
