VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A Vancouver man is facing charges after police said he tried to rob a bank.

It happened at the Chase Bank branch at 1205 Broadway in Vancouver late Tuesday morning.

A man walked into the bank and gave a note to a teller demanding money, officers said.

The teller then stepped away from her window out of view.

When she did not return quickly, the suspect left on foot, without any cash, police said.

Officers found the suspect in theca area of 13th and Esther Street and arrested him, detectives told FOX 12.

They booked Robert Hobert, 56, into the Clark County Jail on one count of first-degree attempted robbery.
