ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -

A car jumped a sidewalk and hit a teenage girl in Aloha Thursday.

Deputies said it happened just after 4 p.m. at Southwest 185th and Farmington Road.

The driver ran away after the collision and was tackled by a couple witnesses, according to investigators.

"I thought I saw him planning an escape route," said witness Jeremiah Jennings.

"He started walking toward Farmington and then ran across the street. I pursued him and then made contact and took him down until police got there."

I asked if he was drinking, I could smell it on him, but he said no, Didn't believe him one bit."

The driver's identity has not yet been revealed, but deputies said the man is being arrested on DUII charges.

Deputies say the girl is a Junior at Westview High School.  She sustained a broken leg and other non-life threatening injuries in the crash, according to deputies.

Her identity is not known at this time.
