ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -

A man is in jail after he drove his car onto the sidewalk and hit a teenage girl in Aloha.

After hitting the girl, the driver ran from the scene, deputies said. Witnesses were able to hold him on the ground until deputies arrived.

The incident happened just after 4 p.m. on Southwest 185th and Southwest Farmington Road.

Deputies found a 2008 BMW abandoned on the sidewalk. The car had substantial front end and passenger side damage.

Deputies said Bradley Gray was the driver of the BMW.

The victim, a junior at Westview High School in Beaverton, suffered a broken leg and was transported to the hospital. Her injuries were non-life-threatening.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Gray for DUII, felony hit-and-run, third degree assault, reckless endangering and reckless driving. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail but bailed out on Friday.

Gray made his first court appearance Friday at 3 p.m.
