Augusta National Golf Club, the United States Golf Association, and PGA of America announced a new initiative to draw younger players to golf Monday.
Drive, Chip, and Putt is a new contest the three organizations are jointly putting on.
Drive, Chip, and Putt is a competition testing the three skills of young players.
The contest will begin this summer with local qualifiers, followed by regional qualifiers.
Each regional qualifying winner will then travel to Augusta to compete at Augusta National the Sunday before the Masters begins.
Each year's national championship will end with the competitors putting on the 18th green of the National, where so many golf memories have been made.
"Historically, how many of the great golf professionals of the world have visualized making the putt on the 18th green to secure their Masters title?" says Augusta National Golf Club Chairman Billy Payne. "We thought if we could duplicate that and share it with these kids, it would be both thrilling for them and amazing to watch."
Drive, Chip, and Putt is open to boys and girls ages 7-15.
