Police: Fight leads to sword attack at trailer park in Longview

LONGVIEW, WA (KPTV) -

Longview police need your help to track down a man accused of attacking another man with his own swords after a fight at a trailer park.

It happened last Thursday at the River City Trailer and RV Park on the 600 block of California Way.

Adam Cason told FOX 12 that he and his girlfriend, April Drumheller, had just woken up when Kevin "Junior" Mathis barged his way inside their home. Mathis, who Cason had apparently met while the two were in jail, had come looking for some stolen tools that he thought Cason had, he added.

"I was half asleep, and I just turned around to tell him that his friend was at the door for him," Drumheller said. "Turned around, back around, and he was already in the house."

The two told FOX 12 that things quickly turned ugly.

Mathis punched Cason in the face with some brass knuckles then grabbed two small Samurai-style swords from on top of Cason's entertainment center, then left, Cason said.

Cason followed Mathis out into the parking lot, where Mathis pulled out the swords and attacked him several times, Cason said.

"If I didn't duck when I did, one of them would have hit my neck," Cason said. "So I ducked in time."

Cason suffered some cuts to his left arm near the elbow.

"I didn't need stitches or anything, but it went to the bone," he said.

Mathis and a guy he was with then jumped back into their vehicle and drove off, Cason said.

Cason was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and released.

"If he comes back here, he's going to get caught. That's what I want," Cason said. "But I know he's gonna come back 'cause he's 23 years old. And he's got that revenge."

"Definitely do not want him to do this to anybody else," Drumheller said.

If you know where Mathis is, give Longview police a call.
