PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police ruled out the presence of explosives after a car fire forced the evacuation of a Phoenix hotel early Monday morning.

A person at the Victory Inn & Suites at 1711 W. Bell Rd. told firefighters the car might contain explosives, forcing 47 guests from their rooms while police conducted a search of the building, said Jonathan Jacobs with the Phoenix Fire Department.

Jacobs said a bomb squad was called to investigate the burned car in the hotel's parking lot.

No explosives were found in the car or the hotel, according to police, and the guests were allowed back in their rooms about 90 minutes later.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said one person was detained, and based on statements from that person, the decision was made to evacuate the hotel after the fire at 5:41 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
