Pit bull survives shooting by Gladstone police

GLADSTONE, OR (KPTV/AP) -

Gladstone police say officers were forced to shoot a pit bull that charged them when they arrived at a mobile home park Monday afternoon, responding to a report of an aggressive dog.

The dog ran off, and police initially weren't able to find the dog after the incident at 5 p.m.

At about 10:15 p.m., police found the dog and it was taken to an animal hospital for what were described as minor injuries.

Police are talking with the owners.
