Regular watchers of the KCTV5 Polar Bear Cam at the Kansas City Zoo may notice Berlin is limping and not moving about as much as usual.

That's because she has injured her left front leg. A spokeswoman for the zoo said a veterinarian was able to examine Berlin without her having to be knocked out. Nothing was broken so she remains under observation.

In addition, Berlin is being given pain meds, a zoo official said. Berlin is not being confined to the back stall area. She has been seen at times Thursday morning in the public area of the Polar Bear Passage.

This injury comes after Berlin and Nikita got very friendly with each other earlier this month. The hope is they will have a cub or two or three later this year. Zoo officials won't know until the fall whether Berlin is pregnant.

You can now watch Nikita and Berlin on the Polar Bear Cam via all Apple devices and most smart phones and tablets in addition to your desktop.
