CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A woman accused of tampering with ballots in Clackamas County pleaded guilty in court Thursday.

Deanna Swenson entered her plea to the charges of official misconduct and unlawfully altering a cast ballot.

She was sentenced to 90 days behind bars.

Swenson was a part-time elections employee for Clackamas County last fall. She was initially accused of tampering with six ballots and filling them in for Republican candidates.

State investigators confirmed Thursday she had actually marked two ballots.

"I assure you that this was not intentional and was totally out of character for me," Swenson said in court. "I plan to take full responsibility for my behavior."

Secretary of State Kate Brown said elections fraud won't be tolerated, adding Swenson's illegal conduct did not affect the outcome of any races in the election.
