A talent show at the University of Portland on Friday night will benefit the Portland Police Bureau's Z-Man Scholarship Foundation.
The Talent Within event gets started at 6 p.m. Friday.
Fifteen top performers in the event were chosen by their Portland high schools to compete for a $5,000 scholarship to a college of their choice.
The acts will include dancers, singers, pianists and a poet.
Students from Roosevelt, Jefferson, Grant, Benson, Lincoln, Wilson, Cleveland, Franklin, Madison, David Douglas, Parkrose and POIC will all compete for the scholarship.
In addition to student acts, there will be live performances from Michael Allen Harrison, Julianne Johnson, TrayJay and the Back Alley Barbers.
Portland Police Chief Mike Reese and American Idol favorite Aubrey Cleland, who is from West Linn, will be judges at the event.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
The event starts at 6 p.m. at the University of Portland Chiles Center.
The Z-Man Scholarship Foundation is named for Mark Zylawy, a Portland officer who was killed while off-duty in January 2008.
