A woman has been arrested and is facing charges of DUII and manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Southeast Portland.
A Portland Police spokesman says that at about 12:45 a.m., LaShai Williams, 20, was driving westbound on Southeast Stark Street when she ran a red light and struck another vehicle heading the east, in the intersection at Southeast 122nd Avenue.
Two people were in the vehicle struck by Williams. A 28-year-old female passenger died at the scene. The driver, a 28-year-old man, was transported to a Portland hospital where he was treated for traumatic but not life-threatening injuries.
Police say their names will be released Monday.
