PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland State University issued an email alert to students over the weekend after campus police said a woman was restrained and robbed.

The alert read that the woman was walking on the second floor of Neuberger Hall about 8 p.m. Saturday when an unknown man grabbed her from behind.

Police said the female student reported the man restrained her and then took her phone. She told police he then ran off towards Hall Street.

The woman was not injured. She described the man as white, 6' tall and 170-180 pounds with short brown hair. He wore a gray hoodie and black jeans.

Women on campus Monday morning told FOX 12 they are now taking precautions, including walking in pairs.

"It makes me scared as a women to think someone could harass me or hurt me," said freshman Jillian Aspholm.

Students are asked to call Campus Safety at 503-725-4404 if they have information or to report any suspicious activity.
