The Portland Police Bureau's White Collar Crimes Detail needs the public's help to find a career con man, officers said.

Nickolas Kasemehas, 73, is wanted for first-degree aggravated theft, police told FOX 12.

"Nick" Kasemehas has a long list of aliases and is a career con man, beginning in 1962, officers said.

Kasemehas was released from prison in September 2012 and immediately began conning victims in the Salem area, detectives said.

He has most recently been frequenting locations in the Portland and Salem areas.

Kasemehas is also believed to have an expensive daily cigar habit, police said.

In the past, the suspect has visited cities along the West Coast, including Seattle and San Francisco.

Many of his cons involve schemes around gold, jewelry and loans, officers said.

According to investigators, Kasemehas' criminal history extends to San Francisco, Utah, Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland and many other smaller cities.

Police would like to hear from anyone with information about his activities.

Kasemehas is described as a white man, 5'9" tall, 175 pounds, with brown eyes and gray-brown hair.

Detectives noted he is also in very good physical shape.

Anyone who sees the suspect is urged to call 911.
