PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

An alarm clock and electrical socket attached to a board inside a van prompted a bomb squad investigation in north Portland.

Officers responded to the 9900 block of North Burgard Way at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to investigate.

Based on their initial observation, officers called in the Metropolitan Explosives Disposal Unit bomb squad to take a closer look. The van was parked about 70 feet away from a commercial propane tank.

Photos taken through the van's window show an odd gadget that includes a clock and an electrical outlet.

Two nearby warehouses were evacuated and traffic was blocked on Burgard Way during the investigation

By 11:40 a.m., the bomb squad determined there was no threat and business resumed as normal.
