WEST LINN, OR (KPTV) -

A West Linn police officer said he clocked a DUII suspect going 101 mph on Interstate 205 Monday night.

It happened at around 11:10 p.m. near the Willamette Falls Viewpoint. The officer was conducting speed enforcement and chased after the car.

While overtaking it, the officer said the suspect was driving erratically through traffic, before finally stopping near Highway 213.

Officers said the driver, Petr Zimin, of Portland, had a blood alcohol content of .11, which is above the legal limit of .08.

Zimin was arrested and charged with DUII and reckless driving.

West Linn police said there has been an increase of speeding on I-205 through the city. The police department is conducting enhanced DUII patrols with the assistance of a grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation.

So far this year, West Linn police have arrested 28 motorists on DUII charges. That's an increase of nearly 17 percent from the same time last year.
