UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said around 2 a.m. Tuesday, a fight that started online ended in the streets of Union County.
"It all stemmed from Facebook," said Sheriff David Taylor of Union County. "The individual thought they were talking to a male individual and come
to find out they were not. They were talking to the male's fiancé."
The "fiancé" is Krystal Krpata, who said she's actually just his girlfriend.
She said the argument started when she and her boyfriend decided to make their relationship official on Facebook by changing their statuses from single to "in a relationship."
"She got on my boyfriend's page and started talking about me, and since I was blocked, I got on his page and started talking to her, and she told me to come over, and I went over and she swung first," said Krystal Krpata.
Krpata said she didn't start the fight but she ended it on Haywood Street.
Details in the incident report said Krpata grabbed the other woman by her hair, pulled her into the street, held her head down and began kneeing her in the face while hitting her in the back.
Deputies said initial injuries were minor and offer this bit of caution while they investigate this case.
"Facebook is not your friend," said Taylor.
Deputies said charges will likely be filed in this case.
