Milwaukie man sentenced for identity theft

Posted: Updated:

A local man will be spending the next four year behind bars.

Tuesday afternoon, Bradley Berg of Milwaukie was sentenced to 48 years in prison and ordered to pay $45,000 in restitution for aggravated identity theft, wire fraud and burglary of a federally insured credit union.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office initially began their investigation on Oct. 7, 2010, after a break-in and burglary was reported at a store.

After months of investigation, deputies arrested Berg in a stolen car in North Portland on Dec. 26, 2010.

Officers say Berg told his girlfriend, Kristin Burke, to sell stolen merchandise on eBay.

Burke was prosecuted in Clackamas County Circuit Court.

Berg is expected to face state court charges in Clackamas and Multnomah Counties for property crimes committed there.
