EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

A four-sport student athlete at the University of Oregon is up for a prestigious national award.

Sports Illustrated has nominated Liz Brenner as one of the five finalists for female college athlete of the year.

The finalists were chosen by the magazine's editors for their academic achievements, along with their "outsized impact in the classroom or in their communities."

The winners in the male and female categories will be featured in the May 27 issue of Sports Illustrated. Fans can vote for their favorite candidate online at SI.com.

Brenner, a sophomore from Portland, has competed in four varsity sports at the University of Oregon: volleyball, basketball, softball and track and field.

She is a psychology major with a 3.07 grade point average and is pursuing a minor in business administration.
