Detroit man guilty of selling heroin in Flint

Posted: Updated:

A Detroit man has been found guilty of selling drugs in Flint and now faces as many as 40 years behind bars.

Marcel Anthony Mitchell, 27, was convicted of delivery of heroin, less than 50 grams on Monday.

Although his conviction is a 20-year felony, Mitchell is a four-time convicted habitual offender, which means he could face up to 40 years in prison.

Mitchell and two others were stopped in their vehicle in June of 2011 and 56 bundles of heroin were confiscated from that vehicle during the stop.

Mitchell will be sentenced in circuit court on July 8.
