Inmate receives additional sentence

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A U.S. District Judge has ordered that Andrew Barnett, an inmate of the Oregon State Penitentiary, must serve 63 consecutive months after the end of his current state sentences.

Court documents state Barnett committed a series of crimes against law enforcement personnel from 2008 through 2012.

Most recently, Barnett mailed a threatening letter that contained a white powder addressed to his federal prosecutor. The powder was later determined to be a penicillin-based antibiotic.

The 63-month sentence for those crimes will not begin until his current state sentences end.
