PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A 45-year-old man turned up at a Portland hospital with two gunshot wounds early Tuesday.

William Rasmussen is expected to survive after arriving at Portland Adventist Medical Center. He was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center to be treated.

Rasmussen told police he was in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 10500 block of Northeast Fremont Street when he was approached by a gunman who fired shots for no reason.

Witnesses called police after hearing shots and seeing several cars leave the area.

That led officers to respond around 1:30 a.m., but they didn't find any victims at the scene. It wasn't until they received a call from Portland Adventist Medical Center that they learned Rasmussen was the shooting victim.

Rasmussen could not provide police with any suspect information.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 503-823-0400.
