Starlight Parade floats lit up a beautiful night in Portland on Saturday.
The parade had it all: marching bands, floating jumbo jets, glow-in-the-dark umbrellas and 100 illuminated entries.
Thousands of people lined the 2.25 mile route in downtown Portland. The parade got started at 8:45 p.m. and its three sections highlighted tradition, volunteerism and the city's weird side.
The Portland Winterhawks served as the Grand Marshals of the parade, riding down the route holding a certain trophy - The Ed Chynoweth Cup - awarded to the Western Hockey League champion every year.
The parade isn't the only thing happening at the Rose Festival this weekend. CityFair's carnival atmosphere runs through Sunday, and CountryFest will bring big names in the country music world to Waterfront Park.
