Meth lab found inside minivan that hit pole, house

Posted: Updated:

Police say they found a meth lab inside a minivan that hit a electric pole knocking out power to hundreds of people, Friday morning.

Around 7 o'clock authorities were called to the scene at 509 West Louisiana Street in Evansville, where there was a report of a vehicle hitting the pole and then slamming into a house.

By the time they got there the driver was nowhere to be found. They found out that he took off from the scene in another vehicle.

That's when they made the other discovery inside the minivan.

At one point, this morning, around 300 homes were without power due to the wreck. Vectren crews quickly whittled that down to less than 100.

EPD is now searching for the driver based on a suspect description given to them by witnesses.
