The Oregon Zoo's adorable baby elephant is now the inspiration for an enticing new doughnut.
Krispy Kreme will unveil its newest menu item Friday. The Lily doughnut is named in honor of the baby elephant born Nov. 30, 2012.
Also on Friday, Krispy Kreme will be giving away free original glazed doughnuts to the first 500 visitors at the zoo.
The new Lily doughnut is filled with a special crème-filled glaze and features an elephant face made of pink-icing on top. It will be sold at local Kirspy Kreme stores through the end of July for $1.29 each.
A portion of sales will go toward the Oregon Zoo Foundation's Campaign for Elephants, with education and conservation activities at the zoo's new Elephant Lands habitat.
Elephant Lands will cover 6.25 acres when it opens in 2015.
