OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A girls soccer coach from Oregon City is accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old player on a team he coaches.

Detectives arrested Joe Leonetti at his home in Oregon City on Wednesday and booked him into the Clackamas County Jail on five counts of first-degree sex abuse.

Leonetti has a lengthy history of coaching girls soccer, including coaching the West Linn High School girls soccer team from 1997 to 2006.

Leonetti also appeared on KPTV as a soccer analyst.

Detectives didn't elaborate on the abuse, only saying the victim is an unrelated 12-year-old player on a club team coached by Leonetti.

The crimes happened in the fall and winter of 2012, deputies said, and investigators aren't ruling out the possibility of other victims.

Anyone who may have information about suspicious activity involving Leonetti is asked to call the sheriff's office tip line at 503-723-4949.

Leonetti is being held on $1.25 million bail. He is scheduled to appear in court at 3 p.m. Thursday.
