A Battle Ground man is facing more than $1,200 in fines for allegedly driving around with 17 people in his car.
Washington State troopers pulled over 37-year-old Brian Schlect on highway 502 Sunday afternoon. The troopers said when they approached the 2007 Chevy Suburban, they discovered 17 people inside. The vehicle legally seats only nine.
Investigators said 10 of the passengers were children and none of them were wearing seatbelts.
Schlect was given 10 tickets totaling $1,240.
