LAKE OSWEGO, OR (KPTV) -

Lake Oswego police arrested a man accused of burglarizing a garage.

Police responded to the house on Lakeview Boulevard at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after a teenage boy in the house saw the man, Stephan Smith, enter their garage.

The boy called his mother who was nearby and saw Smith inside the garage.

Smith then fled out the back and jumped a fence into another neighbor's yard.

Police say Smith tried to disguise himself by removing his shirt as he made his way back to his Toyota truck parked nearby.

Police arrested Smith as he got into his truck, and booked him at the Clackamas County Jail on burglary charges.

Neighbors in the area report seeing Smith walking along Lakeview Boulevard for an hour before being discovered in the garage.

Smith's appearance and truck suggest he was a contractor working in the area.

Lake Oswego police believe Smith may have been attempting to enter unlocked houses and garages in the area.
