GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

A man is in critical condition after being hit by a car at a Gresham intersection.

Gresham police said the crash happened at Southeast Burnside and 197th Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officers said the pedestrian crossed at the crosswalk against the light, and was then struck by an eastbound car.

Drugs, alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash, police said, and the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

No citations have been issued.

Police said the pedestrian is being treated at Oregon Health and Science University.

The accident happened on the same day traffic officers were conducting pedestrian safety missions in Gresham, but the safety mission was not at the same location as the crash.
