PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

An OHSU employee is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from Oregon's health care program.

Dean Westwood, a disability awareness trainer, has worked at the hospital since 1996.

Court documents allege Westwood received Medicaid benefits for several years and cost tax payers more than $81,000, this despite earning a good income.

While allegedly claiming Medicaid benefits, court documents said Westwood lived in a luxury apartment on Portland's waterfront, owned a speedboat, traveled to see Oregon Ducks games and frequented expensive hotels and restaurants.

He has been arraigned on several counts of false claims for home care, plus charges of theft and unlawfully obtaining public assistance.
