Oregon State Beavers drop first game of College World Series

OMAHA, NE (KPTV) -

The Oregon State Beavers dropped the opening game to Mississippi State in the NCAA College World Series.

Oregon State lead early 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs battled back in the second with 3 runs.

The Beavers tied the game at 3 runs in the 4th inning, before taking the 4 to 3 lead in the fifth.

Mississippi State ended up beating OSU 5 to 4.

The game was played before a crowd of 24,473, the eighth largest crowd in the parks history.

The Beavers will now take on Louisville on Monday at noon Pacific Time.

Oregon State dropped the first game in 2006 before battling back to win the national title.
