PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Timbers fans are celebrating a big win over FC Dallas.

The Timbers took on the Western Conference Leaders Saturday afternoon at JELD-WEN Field.

There were no goals in the first half despite a combined 13 shots from both teams.

Portland got right to it in the second half.

Darlington Nagbe scored a stunning, no look goal in the 52nd minute.

Portland goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts blocked seven shots on goal to keep the Green and White with a shutout.

Final score Portland 1, Dallas 0.

Portland coach Caleb Porter described the victory as an early Father's Day present.

"You know, [there are] quite a few fathers on this team so it makes your life a little bit better" Porter said. "I know it'll make my life better tomorrow, and then honestly we'll forget about it completely and we'll get back to work on Monday because the season doesn't get any easier."

The win saw Portland's unbeaten streak extended to 13 matches in Major League Soccer.

As of Sunday morning, The Timbers were in third place in the Western Conference with 26 points from 15 matches.

They were just two points behind first-placed FC Dallas and one point behind Real Salt Lake.

The Green and White return to action Wednesday against L.A. Galaxy.
