PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

TriMet is now facing a lawsuit in connection with a stabbing that happened on one of its buses in fall 2012.

According to the lawsuit, Austin Vanhagen started yelling and using racial slurs while on a bus in Oregon City on Oct. 2.

Richard Dickson recently filed the suit.

It claims several passengers tried to remove Vanhagen from the bus.

That's when he reportedly lashed out.

Dickson, another passenger and the driver all suffered stab wounds in the resulting struggle.

Dickson is suing TriMet and the bus driver for $250,000 for damages and negligence.
