Farmer's market vendor asks for help in tracking down stolen U-Haul

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Summertime means farmers markets, and for some, these markets are their livelihoods.

Kristen Ahyek is one of those entrepreneurs. She runs a corn dog stand and also sells strawberry shortcake every weekend at the Vancouver Farmer's Market, but on Monday night, thieves took off with her U-Haul that contained $35,000 worth of equipment needed to run her market stand.

Some of the equipment was made by Ahyek herself.

Ahyek said the stand is how she makes a living, so far now, she has no income. And unless someone finds her stolen U-Haul box truck, Ahyek won't be at the market this coming weekend.

"I just wish people would respect other people's belongings," Ahyek said.

The missing U-Haul is about 30 feet long. It is faded orange in color and has some graffiti on the side. The truck has a Washington license plate: B33339D.

Anyone who sees the truck is asked to call Vancouver police.
