CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A father and his adult son are accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old child, and deputies believe it's very likely there are more victims.

U.S. Marshals arrested Duane Shottenkirk, 61, and Earnest Shottenkirk, 35, in Hubbard June 14.

The arrest came after a lengthy criminal investigation led by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Child Abuse Team. Both men were booked into the Clackamas County Jail following their arrest.

Investigators said the abuse happened in 2011 at the men's home in an unincorporated area near Canby. The alleged victim, who is known to the men, was 6 years old at the time.

"The house was trashed," said Bob Wright, who is the Shottenkirk's former landlord in Canby. "We had to repair the walls, windows and doors."

Wright and his wife, Elaine, said they evicted the Shottenkirk's for trashing the property and failing to pay rent. They said Duane and his wife lived in the house with Earnest, his wife, and the couple's five children.

"He seemed on the outside like a good dad to those kids," said Elaine Wright when describing Earnest. "But boy, if you're doing stuff like this there's the other side of it."

Duane Shottenkirk is charged with first-degree sexual abuse and 26 total counts of encouraging child sex abuse. Investigators said he solicited and distributed child pornography. His bail is $500,000.

Earnest Shottenkirk is facing two counts of first degree sexual abuse. His bail was set at $250,000.

Investigators said they have credible information that Duane Shottenkirk has molested other children and believe it is highly likely there are more unidentified victims.

Duane Shottenkirk has lived in Oregon, Washington and California, and deputies believe potential victims may live in those states.
