The father of an autistic girl who a trooper shocked with a taser in Ashland is calling the action excessive.
Last Saturday, a cab driver spotted the 11-year-old wandering along Intertstate 5 naked.
Her dad says she has a severe case of autism and cannot carry on a conversation.
She also runs away from home often.
Oregon State Police defend the use of the taser, saying the trooper had to make a split-second decision using the information that the girl was running in traffic and causing danger for herself and others.
Police also say the trooper was not aware of the girl's diagnosis, and they were under the impression she was older based on her appearance.
