Serious car crash sends two to the hospital

Posted: Updated:

Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a serious crash that sent two people to the hospital.

It happened near Aldercrest Road and Thessien Road in Milwaukee just after 8 p.m. Friday.

Officials say the driver of a Jetta lost control and slammed nearly head-on into a truck.

The driver of the Jetta, who had to be cut out of the car, was taken to Oregon Health and Science University. The driver of the truck was taken to Sunnyside Kaiser. Their conditions are unknown.

Neighbors say they've had trouble with street racing in the area in the past, but deputies have not commented about the possible cause of the wreck.

The speed limit of the area is only 30 mph, but deputies say based on the damage done to the cars, one of the drivers was likely speeding.
