Four injured in crash north of Forest Grove

FOREST GROVE, OR (KPTV) -

Four people were injured after a crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 47 north of Forest Grove.

Oregon State Police say Bryan Bartholomew was driving a Jeep Cherokee north Highway 47, when he failed to notice traffic ahead was stopped, braked hard and swerved into the southbound lanes.

The Jeep crashed into the side of a 2000 Ford RV pulling a minivan, traveled off the west side of the highway and rolled hitting a tree.

The RV went off the highway and came to rest on top of the Jeep.

People at the scene helped Bartholomew out of the Jeep before both vehicles caught fire.

Forest Grove Fire and Rescue responded and put out the fire that damaged both vehicles.

Bartholomew was taken by air ambulance to OHSU with serious injuries.

He was cited by OSP for following too close and unlawful possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

The RV driver and two passengers were taken by ground to OHSU with minor injuries.
