Driver charged with negligent homicide in death of motorcyclist

KLAMATH COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police say one man is dead and another man was arrested following a collision on Highway 31 in Klamath County Saturday night.

Police say Stephen Williams, age 57, of Silver Lake, was driving his motorcycle eastbound on Highway 31 when a van heading westbound crossed Williams' path as it turned into a private driveway.

Williams was transported to a Bend hospital where he died from his injuries. Police say he was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the van, Glen Harvey Jr, age 43, of La Pine, was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide and DUII.  He is currently in the Klamath County Jail.
