ROSEBURG, OR (KPTV) -

Police have identified a man who died after being released from jail, began jumping on cars and was hit with a stun gun by police.

Gregory Price, 56, of Sublimity, was arrested Friday by Douglas County deputies at the Diamond Lake Resort. Investigators said the initial report was of a disturbance between Price and his wife.

When deputies arrived, they said Price had been driving in an extremely unsafe manner between cabins and in pedestrian-only areas. He was arrested on the charge of reckless driving.

His probable cause affidavit was reviewed by a circuit court judge the following day and he was released from custody, according to deputies.

Soon after, it was reported that Price began jumping on moving vehicles in front of the Douglas County Courthouse. Two Roseburg police officers responded and used a stun gun and pepper spray to take him into custody, according to investigators.

Police said he then had a medical emergency and stopped breathing. CPR was started, but Price died. The investigation into his death is continuing.
