Lifeguards needed to work at Klineline Pond

Posted: Updated:
CLARK COUNTY, WA (KPTV) -

Clark County is looking for qualified lifeguards to work at Klineline Pond this summer.

This comes after a teenager had to be rescued from the cold water by his friend over a week ago when there were no lifeguards on duty.

The county has found money for lifeguards and has 10 spots to fill. They want to have a lifeguard on duty each day through Labor Day.

The county is urging park users to use the free life jackets that can be found near the pond until lifeguards can be hired.

Applicants must be at least 16-years-old and have open water and special facility certification through Ellis and Associates Inc., along with lifeguard and rescue experience.

For more information, you can go to www.clark.wa.gov and click on "jobs" near the upper right corner.
