An 18-year-old father is accused of fracturing his 6-month-old baby's arms and leg.

Beaverton police were notified that the little girl was brought to a doctor for examination of an injury to her right arm.

X-rays revealed the baby had a fractured arm that was believed to be the result of abuse. The girl was taken into protective custody and detectives began to investigate.

Further investigation revealed the baby actually had six fractures in various stages of healing in both arms and one leg.

The girl's mother, who is 16 years old, was interviewed, along with the father, Cesar Ramirez, 18. Other family members with access to the baby were also interviewed by Beaverton detectives.

On Wednesday, Ramirez was interviewed again. Police said it was determined he had caused the injuries. Ramirez was arrested at the conclusion of the interview.

Police said the abuse happened at a home in Gresham. Ramirez was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of assault and criminal mistreatment.
