The body of Dr. Kinley Adams was recovered from Mount Hood Sunday night.
The Oregon Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopter discovered the body around 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the top of Sandy Glacier near 8,400 feet. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office originally said there was a high probability it was the missing climber and deputies confirmed it Monday morning.
His body was brought down from the Sandy Glacier at 6 p.m. Sunday following a highly technical mission.
An initial exam was scheduled for Monday at the Clackamas County medical examiner's office, but the results were not expected to be available for several days.
For more than a week, search and rescue crews attempted to locate the 59-year-old man. Adams went climbing June 22 and his family reported him missing when he never returned that night.
Adams was a dentist in the Salem area.
