BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Beaverton police are looking for a man accused of running a Craigslist car sale scam.

Last month, a man reported to police that he attempted to buy a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta listed for sale on the internet site for $5,000.

Investigators said the man gave the suspect $3,500 and made arrangements to pick up the car. He was then given the title.

Unfortunately, the title was a fake and the so-called seller never came back with the car. The suspect produced a Washington driver's license, but investigators said it was stolen from a gym locker in Vancouver.

The victim's daughter snapped photos of the suspect during the fraudulent transaction.

Police said another local victim lost $11,000 in an identical scam.

The victims describe the suspect as having a thick Russian accent. He is over 6' tall with an average build.

If you recognize him, call Beaverton police at 503-629-0111.
