PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A police chase through east Portland ended when officers found the suspect hiding behind a kiddie pool Sunday.

Michael Pollack, 31, sped away from an officer after an attempt to stop him for traffic violations at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Division Street, police said.

Once Pollack reached the 2400 block of Northeast 50th Avenue, he stopped his 1995 Honda Civic and ran into the neighborhood, according to police.

Officers established a neighborhood perimeter and called in a police K-9 to search the area.

They found Pollack hiding behind a kiddie pool on 49th Avenue, then arrested him on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Additional charges may be added at a later date.
