BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Two brothers were arrested after a dispute and a standoff at a Beaverton home Thursday morning.

Beaverton police said they responded to the home at 4495 SW 96th Ave. when they got a complaint from a man who said his roommate pointed an AR-15 at him.

They made contact with the suspect's girlfriend, whose account of what originally happened in the apartment differed from the 911 caller.

The suspect, Scott Adams, refused to come out of the home, police said. Officers called him on the phone and spoke with him on and off for two hours.

Around 5 a.m., he came out of the apartment and was taken into custody without incident.

Inside the apartment, police said they also found Adams' brother, 32-year-old Charles Adams, and arrested him as well. They said he was involved in the dispute with the roommate who called 911.

The AR-15 that was reported turned out to be a paintball gun.

The Adams brothers now face charges of menacing and harassment.
