Second Portland Outdoor Store employee says he was attacked

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Just five days after his best friend was attacked with a skateboard, another employee at the Portland Outdoor Store says he's been assaulted.

Miguel Figueroa said he was taking his trash out at midnight Friday when three men attacked him. Figueroa escaped with a busted elbow and swollen lip.

"The guy kept saying, 'That's the guy from the Portland Outdoor Store', and 'we're doing this for our friend,'" Figueroa said.

"They all had on some dark hoods, and they were (pulled) overtheir face," Figueroa said.

Figueroa thinks it was the same group who attacked his friend, Larry Allen, outside the Portland Outdoor Store Monday.

Witnesses told police a large group of violent street kids ambushed the 70-year-old employee. One of them allegedly hit Allen over the head with a skateboard.

Figueroa appeared on FOX 12 Monday night. He thinks that's why the group followed him home and then waited to attack.

"To be in your own neighborhood, your own building, and to have that happen is pretty messed up," Figueroa said.

Portland police are still investigating whether there is a connection between the two attacks.
