Body found in Portland harbor identified as escapee

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The body found in the North Portland Harbor Sunday has been identified as a Clark County Sheriff's Office work release escapee.

The body of Drake Johnson, 27, was discovered in the water near the railroad bridge by the Coast Guard at 10:25 a.m. Sunday.

Johnson was listed as an escapee from the work release program on July 17. Information regarding the original charges that led to Johnson's incarceration was not immediately available to investigators.

The cause of death remains under investigation.
