KELSO, WA (KPTV) -

A man captured on camera burglarizing a Kelso family's garage and car, is also suspected of breaking into two other cars the same night, according to the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office.

Surveillance video shows a man entering the Powell family's Cadillac Escalade around 2:30 a.m. on July 19.

The man is wearing a backpack. When he exits a few minutes later, he's holding the backpack.

The surveillance cameras also captured video of the man entering the family's garage later that night, then leaving while carrying a heavy object in his arms.

Homeowner Amy Powell said the man bypassed electronics and tools, taking a car charger from the SUV and an unidentified object from the garage.

She feels unsafe after the burglary.

"He could have just walked into the house. He could have been in the house, we don't know," said Powell. "So pretty unsafe, pretty mad."

Investigators said someone broke into a car belonging to Powell's neighbor on the same night. They think the Decatur Drive crimes are related to another incident on Nevada Drive, which is two miles away.

In that incident, a person was interrupted while they tried to break into a car to steal items from it, or in order to steal the vehicle.
