Police: Baseball bat spiked with screws used in attack

Posted: Updated:

Police arrested a Kelso man, after they say he beat another with a baseball bat spiked with screws.

Matthew Wright was arrested on Monday.

The alleged victim told police that Wright, and another man lured him into an apartment.

That's when he says he was hit many times in front of Wright's wife.

Later, the man told police Wright sent him taunting text messages, including one claiming that the whole incident was caught on camera.

Officers went to the apartment, and say they found hypodermic needles and a bloody bat, which is now being analyzed at a lab.

They say Wright's wife told them the couple was getting help for a heroin addiction.

Wright faces assault and drug charges.
